The Insomnia Festival

Official opening titles for Insomnia Festival 2010. Insomnia is a festival for innovative electronic music located in Tromsø, Norway. The festival combines new innovative music with new technology and design through public events like concerts, dj/club nights, seminars, exhibitions, performances, installations and debates. The venues vary from Tromsø’s beautiful old cinema, Verdensteatret and the student-house Driv which used to be the old youth house Brygga, where artists like Bel Canto, Röyksopp and Rune Lindbæk started their careers. The festival has its base in Tromsø as the city was Norway’s capital of house and techno when the genre first emerged. The Insomnia Festival is a non-profit event, with the main goal to create an artistic melting pot and an important platform for innovative artists above the arctic circle.
